Biography – WHO IS JUDITH PREBLUDA?
Judith Prebluda M.A., L.M.H.C., is a Licensed Master’s level psychotherapist, Meditation teacher, Reiki Master and Dance/Movement therapist with 32 years of professional experience. She finished her master’s training with an internship at the C.G. Jung Institute in Houston, Texas in 1983, and began her career at West Oaks Psychiatric Hospital in 1984, joining the Expressive Arts Therapy Department as their first Dance/Movement Therapist. This began her life-long interest and immersion into Body/Mind approaches to psychotherapy, and holistic healing in general. Body/Mind Therapy continues to be a strong focus and area of integration in her work today.
In 1986 she moved to the Boston Area, where she focused on family, child and adolescent therapy with emotional and behavioral problems. This led to an interest in Trauma therapy, the latest Trauma brain research, and the latest Body/Mind oriented approaches.
She has taught and supervised Expressive Arts Therapy students (at the Master’s level), all levels of Reiki Training, and Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy, which she taught at Massachusetts School for Professional Psychology in West Roxbury from 2003-2006.
In 1995 she began her private practice, in which she continues to integrate her Western clinical and research-based psychology background with her Buddhist psychology and Energy medicine/ Body/Mind therapy background. This integration provides a rich, balanced and effective method of treatment for all kinds of difficulties, especially: Trauma, (P.T.S.D and Complex P.T.S.D.) Anxiety, Depression, Relationships issues and Life Purpose/Motivation.
In 1994 Judith became a Reiki Master Teacher and co-founded the practice of integrating Reiki and Psychotherapy with Dr. Richard Curtin. The two continue to collaborate.
Judith has been a meditator and student of spirituality for 36 years, with a particular interest in Buddhism, Native American spirituality, and energy-based healing practices. Buddhist psychology (which Judith also calls Dharma Informed Therapy), Mindfulness, Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (M.B.C.T), Trauma therapy and Psycho-therapeutic Reiki continue to be her foundations, upon which everything else stands.
